PLAYA BLANCA is situated on the Southernmost tip of Lanzarote, was once a small fishing village which has now expanded into one of the main tourist resorts on the Island! with the influx of luxury developments and hotels. It has a newly built promenade in the centre of town with many shops, cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes plus a small but beautiful town beach. Although there's still a lot of development continuing in Playa Blanca, including a new marina and plans for a new 18 hole golf course it still retains its quaintness and individuality within Lanzarote. The town itself boasts an array of nightlife and facilities including the ferry to fuertaventura. Just beyond the promenade there is a large sandy beach (Playa Dorada), Sun beds and umbrellas are available for hire, along with bars, restaurants and a kiosk, Car parking and toilet facilities (Approx. 10 minutes stroll from centre) Playa Blanca is also known for its Papagayo Beaches, you can get to these either by foot( about 35 minutes) or by car along an unmade dusty road, you will definitely need to take some food, water and supplies when visiting here as there is nothing except the most beautiful secluded natural beaches on the island.
